Grandeur of the Seas

We were on board this ship in 2009. The Grandeur is currently the smallest ship in Royal Caribbean's fleet, at least passenger-wise, with a capacity of just under 2,000 passengers. As it is a smaller ship, it can get into some ports, such as Antigua and through the Panama Canal that the mega-ships cannot visit.

We had an inside room on this ship, and it was a lot larger than either the Majesty or Monarch inside rooms. On a 10 day cruise, the inside room was more than adequate for us.

The ship has the theatre and Windjammer cafe both forward, which is bit of a different layout than many of Royal Caribbean's ships. An adult-only Solarium is mid-ships, and they have the best hot-dogs and fries I think I have ever eaten. Perhaps its the environment that makes them so tasty. The Solarium has a glass roof that can be opened if needed, or enclosed with air conditioning as needed.

The ship does show its age a bit, but is is still well maintained.
