The Ships and the Cruises
Some of my information may be dated as its been several years since I have been on some of the ships. But we are booked for two more cruises in 2010 on yet two different ships, so check back for updates.
Majesty of the Seas: We were on board this ship in 2000 for a 4 day cruise to Nassau, Bahamas, Coco Cay, Bahamas, and Key West, Fl. The departure port was Miami, and we flew into Miami from Michigan on the day of the cruise. We had an inside room on this ship. This ship's maiden voyage was in 1992, and while an older ship, it is an elegant ship. The ship's length is 880ft.
Explorer of the Seas: We were on board this ship in 2001 for a 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise to Nassau, Bahamas, Labadee, Haiti, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas. The departure port was Miami and we flew into Miami from Michigan on the day prior to the cruise. This was two weeks after that awful day on September 11, 2001, and we were all quite nervous. On this ship, we had an inside balcony room overlooking the Grand Promenade. The ship's maiden voyage was in 2000, and the time we had cruised on her, she was still practically new. The ship's length is 1,020ft.
Voyager of the Seas: We were on board this ship in 2002 for a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise to Labadee, Haiti, Ochos Rios, Jamaica, Georgetown, Cayman Islands, and Cozumel, Mexico. The departure port was Miami and we flew into Miami from Michigan on the day prior to the cruise. On this ship, we had an inside room. Her maiden voyage was in 1999, and she was the older sister to both the Explorer of the Seas and the Mariner of the Seas. The ship's length is 1,020ft
Mariner of the Seas: We were on board this ship in 2005 for a 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise to Nassau, Bahamas, Charlotte Amaile, St. Thomas, and Philipsburg, St. Maarten. The departure port was Port Canaveral, and we drove to Florida for vacation and the cruise. On this ship, we had an inside balcony room overlooking the Grand Promenade. Her maiden voyage was in 2003, and while her length is an identical 1,20ft to the Voyager of the Seas and the Explorer of the Seas, to maintain supremacy in the largest ship in the world battle, she was a slight 1.5ft wider.
Grandeur of the Seas: We were on board this ship in 2009 for a 10 day cruise to San Juan, Puerto Rico, Philipsburg, St. Maarten, Basseterre, St. Kitts, St. Johns, Antigua, and Road Town, Tortola. The departure port was Tampa, and we drove to Florida for vacation and the cruise. On this ship, we had an inside room. Her maiden voyage was in 1996, and like the Majesty of the Seas, she has held up with age, a testament to the hard work the crew performs to maintain her. At 916ft, she is one of the smaller ships, and one of the few ships that can sail out of Tampa.
Freedom of the Seas: We are scheduled to cruise on this ship in 2010 for a 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise, with ports-of-call of Coco Cay, Bahamas, Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, and Philipsburg, St. Maartin. The departure port is scheduled to be Port Canaveral, and we have reserved an outside balcony. Launched in 2006, the Freedom of the Seas is one of the newer ships, and at 1.112ft, one of the larger ships.
Radiance of the Seas: We are scheduled to cruise on this ship in 2010 for a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise, with ports-of-call of Georgetown, Cayman Islands, Cozumel, Mexico, Costa Maya, Mexico, and Belize City, Belize. The departure port is scheduled to be Tampa, and we have reserved an outside balcony. Her maiden voyage was in 2001, and at 962ft in length, is one of the smaller ships that can sail out of Tampa.
