Photography.
I am adding a photography section to the website, under the Carribean Cruising section. Why a photography section? Since I already have a Caribbean Cruising section - which loosely ties in with boating (OK, maybe a distant tie in) - I am extending that section further by adding what photo equipment I take on a cruise. And... photo equipment has a tie-in to boat projects as well, as you want to take photos of your boat, right? Perhaps taking photos of your boat is a "boat project" into itself...
Anything unique with photo equipment for cruising (and/or boat projects)? Not necessarily a lot; however, consider a sample topic: which Telephoto lens should you buy? The experts tell you to buy expensive, fast telephoto lenses (f2.8 for you photo-buffs). However, these lenses cost $2K or more, and they are intended for sports and fast-action photography, sometimes in inside arenas. But when you are on a cruise, or even your boat - you are going to be doing mostly daylight photography, so why spend $2K on a lens when $200 will do. Of course the pros are right in that in their environment, a more expensive lens is necessary. But on a cruise/boat, the cheaper lens will suffice for daylight photos.
So when you get a chance, check out my photo review section: Photo Equipment for Boating & Cruising
And if you have not already done so, check out the cruise section as well: Caribbean Cruising
I will be doing more updates in these sections in the next month or so, therefore if you have an interest in these areas, check back a few times.
Happy boating, cruising, and photo taking!
